Humble Savior

As we read in Zechariah 9:9, we see a prophecy that was given long before it was fulfilled. This prophecy speaks of a King who would come to the people riding on a donkey. This King would be righteous and victorious, but He would also be humble and lowly. When we think about this prophecy, we realize that it speaks to the character of our God; Namely Jesus.

God is a God who keeps His promises, and He is faithful to fulfill His word. This prophecy reminds us that God is in control of history and that He has a plan for our lives. Just as He fulfilled this prophecy, He will fulfill all of his promises to us as well.

Furthermore, this prophecy also shows us the character of the King who was to come. He was righteous, victorious, humble, and lowly. This King is Jesus Christ, who came to earth to save us from our sins. Jesus is the perfect example of what it means to be a true King. He is not a King who is interested in power and prestige, but he is a King who is interested in serving His people; proving it by giving His life for them.

As we reflect on the prophecy given in Zechariah 9:9, we are reminded of God’s faithfulness, His control over history, and the character of Jesus Christ. Let us rejoice greatly and shout with joy, just as the daughter of Zion and the daughter of Jerusalem did, because our King has come to us and He has saved us from our sins.

Watch Out!

The Bible passage from Romans 16:17 reminds us to be cautious of people who cause division and create obstacles that go against the Biblical teachings we have learned. We must be careful of who we choose to associate with and the beliefs they follow. It is important to stay true to our faith and to seek guidance from trusted sources to avoid being led astray.

It is easy to be influenced by the opinions and beliefs of those around us, but we must remember to stay grounded in our own values and convictions.

Treasure Hunt

As we read in Romans 11:33, we find that the wisdom and knowledge of God are deep and unsearchable. We may try to understand God’s ways, but we may never fully comprehend His ways. This verse reminds us of the vastness and mystery of God’s nature. As we seek to know more about God, we can find comfort in knowing that He is infinitely wiser than we are.

God’s ways are beyond our understanding, but this does not mean that we should give up trying to know Him. The more we seek God, the more we will see His hand in our lives.

We can trust that God is always working for our good, even if we do not understand the details of how He is doing it. We can also trust that God is always faithful to His promises, and that He will never leave us or forsake us.

As we contemplate the depth of God’s wisdom and knowledge, we can also be encouraged by the fact that He desires for us to know Him more. We can approach God with a childlike faith, seeking to learn more about Him and His ways. God invites us to come to Him, to ask questions, and to seek His guidance. As we do so, we can trust that He will reveal Himself to us in ways that are beyond our imagination.

The Purpose of the Law

We often strive to earn God’s favor by doing good works or following a set of rules. However, as we learn from Romans 3:20, this is not the way to be declared righteous in God’s sight. No matter how hard we try, we will never be able to achieve righteousness through our own efforts. Instead, the law shows us our sin and points us to our need for a savior.

The good news is that God has provided a way for us to be declared righteous through faith in Jesus Christ. When we believe in Jesus and accept the gift of salvation that he offers, we are no longer under the law but under grace. This means that we are no longer judged by our works, but by our faith in Jesus.

This is a humbling truth that should lead us to a place of gratitude and surrender. We can never earn our salvation, but we can receive it as a free gift. As we live our lives in light of this truth, may we be motivated not by a desire to earn God’s favor, but by a desire to love and serve him out of gratitude for what he has done for us.

Foolishness

As we journey through life; with all of it’s distractions and troubles, it is easy to lose sight of what truly matters. We can become so consumed with our own desires and pursuits that we forget to give thanks to the One who created us. Romans 1:21 reminds us of the importance of recognizing and glorifying God. When we neglect to do so, our thoughts become futile and our hearts become darkened.

It is not enough to simply know about God. We must actively seek to honor and give thanks to Him. This requires humility and a willingness to put God’s will above our own. When we do this, our minds become clear and our hearts become filled with light. We are able to see the world in a new and beautiful way, and we are able to experience the fullness of life that God intended for us.

As we reflect on Romans 1:21, let us take a moment to examine our own lives. Are we glorifying God in all that we do? Are we giving thanks to Him for the blessings He has bestowed upon us? Let us strive to keep God at the center of our lives, and may our thoughts and actions be a reflection of His love and grace; in doing so, we might just be the light, some walking in darkness, needs to see!

Be Still

As we journey through life, we often find ourselves caught up in the hustle and bustle of the world around us. We are constantly bombarded with noise, distractions, and busyness, and it can be challenging to find a moment of peace. However, the psalmist reminds us to be still and know that God is God. (Psalm 46:10)

In our stillness, we can find a deep sense of peace and connection with our Creator. It is essential to take the time to quiet our minds and hearts and to focus on the presence of God in our lives. When we do this, we open ourselves up to receive the love, guidance, and wisdom that God wants to impart to us.

As we go about our daily lives, we should remember to take moments of stillness to reconnect with God. Whether it is through prayer, meditation, or simply being in nature, we should seek out these opportunities to be still and know that God is God. By doing so, we will find that we are better equipped to face the challenges of life with grace and strength.

Let us take the psalmist’s words to heart and embrace the stillness that allows us to connect with our Creator. As we do so, we can rest in the knowledge that God is, and will be, exalted among the nations and in the earth.

Guard Your Heart

It is important to take care of your heart. Not just the physical heart that pumps blood, but also the emotional heart. The Bible says to “guard your heart” (Proverbs 4:23) because everything you do flows from it. This means that your thoughts, words, and actions are all influenced by the condition of your heart.

To guard your heart, you need to be mindful of what you expose it to. Surround yourself with positive influences that build you up and encourage you. Avoid negative influences that tear you down and discourage you. This could include things like negative self-talk, toxic relationships, or harmful media.

Another way to guard your heart is by practicing forgiveness. Holding onto grudges or bitterness can weigh you down and prevent you from living a full and joyful life. By choosing to forgive those who have wronged you, you release yourself from the burden of anger and resentment and open your heart to healing and restoration.

In conclusion, guarding your heart is essential for living a healthy and fulfilling Christian life. By being mindful of what you expose your heart to and practicing forgiveness, you can protect your emotional well-being and positively impact those around you.

Power of the Resurrection

I am constantly reminded that our journey of faith is not one that is meant to be stagnant or complacent. In Philippians 3:10, the apostle Paul speaks of his desire to know Christ and the power of his resurrection, as well as to share in his sufferings, becoming like him in his death. This verse serves as a powerful reminder that our faith is not just a destination but a journey that requires us to constantly seek and grow in our knowledge and relationship with Jesus.

As we seek to know Christ more deeply, we must be willing to not only embrace the joys and blessings that come with our faith but also the challenges and trials that may come our way. The Christian journey is not always an easy one, but it is in those moments of struggle and pain that we have the opportunity to draw closer to Christ and experience his grace and mercy in a profound way.

May we never lose sight of the importance of seeking to know Christ more deeply, not just for our own personal growth, but also so that we may be a light and a witness to others. May our lives be a reflection of his love and grace, and may we never forget that it is through him that we find true fulfillment and purpose in this life.

Acknowledgement

As a follower of Jesus Christ, it is important to not be ashamed of our faith and to boldly proclaim it to others. In Matthew 10:32, Jesus says that if we acknowledge Him before others, He will acknowledge us before His Father in heaven. This means that if we confess Jesus as Lord and Savior in front of others, He will confess us before God.

We can acknowledge Jesus before others by sharing our testimony and the good news of the gospel. It can be scary to share our faith, especially if we fear rejection or ridicule. But Jesus promises to be with us and give us the words to speak when we are faced with opposition (Matthew 10:19-20).

When we acknowledge Jesus before others, we also demonstrate our love and loyalty to Him. It shows that we value our relationship with Him above all else, and that we are willing to endure any persecution or hardship for His sake. May we always have the courage and conviction to acknowledge Jesus before others, knowing that He is faithful to acknowledge us before His Father in heaven.
