X-MAS

Every year as Christmas and Easter come around; two unimaginable historical events; we wholeheartedly celebrate them!

However, year after year, these events are less and less about the historical fact of Jesus Christ, and more and more about two fictitious characters known as Santa and the Easter Bunny.

Worse; is the promotion of these two counterfeit deities to precious children; children who assume those who love and cherish them are truthful and would never lie about something so powerful.

The lie is often perpetuated year after year, until the child begins to question the veracity of the fantastical stories; then low and behold, the truth finally comes out! Disillusionment sets in as the hoax perpetuated upon them since birth, comes to light; Mom, Dad, Grandpa and Grandma were all in on it; they lied to me!

Now, for the “Christian family” a real quandary begins to unfold. How to try and convince these little ones that they have been deceiving, that Jesus is real?

 After all, Jesus truly:

Sees you when you’re sleeping
Knows when you’re awake
Knows if you’ve been bad or good

Is it any wonder why it is so hard to convince them that Jesus is not just another, even more elaborate fabrication? A fallacy that will ultimately lead to another, even more powerful disillusionment on the future?

Jesus was asked a question regarding who would be the greatest in the Kingdom of heaven; His answer should stun you!

He called a little child to him, and placed the child among them. And he said:

“Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Therefore, whoever takes the lowly position of this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. And whoever welcomes one such child in my name welcomes me.

“If anyone causes one of these little ones—those who believe in me—to stumble, it would be better for them to have a large millstone hung around their neck and to be drowned in the depths of the sea.”

Consider carefully before putting a stumbling block before your children; He is watching, and will hold you accountable.

Be truthful to your kids from day one, and if you, or your kids get grief for truth telling; so be it. When your life on earth concludes, you will have just one set of fiery eyes to look into and give an account.

Oh, and by the way, millstones are quite heavy; choose now if you care to wear one or not!
